The sidebar
Open the sidebar, switch its tabs, find your favorites, projects, docs, skills and chats in it, and resize or close it.
The sidebar lists what's in your workspace: favorites, projects, docs, skills and chats. It sits at the left of the window, beside your page.
Open and close the sidebar
Click Contents at the left end of the dock, or press ⌘Ctrl\. Do the same again to close it. sfora remembers on this device whether you left it open or closed. Until you choose, it starts open on a screen wider than 1440 pixels and closed on a smaller one.
You can also close it with the button at the top right of the sidebar, next to the workspace's name.
Switch tabs
Four tabs sit at the top of the sidebar: Home, Docs, Skills and Chat. Each shows one kind of thing. The tab you're on shows its name; the others show only their icons. Switching tabs changes what the sidebar lists, not the page you're on. sfora remembers your tab for each workspace on this device.
Home
- Favorites lists the posts you've starred. It appears once you have one. To star a post, open it and click the star under it.
- Projects lists your projects. Under each one are Posts, Work and Library, the project's chats, and New chat. The green number beside a project is how many cards in In progress someone has taken. When there are none, an amber "2 open" means the project has two open questions, and a grey 0 means it's quiet.
- Browse all rooms finds chats you haven't joined.
Docs
Documents is a tree of the workspace's docs, with folders that open and close. Click a doc to open it. Point at a row and click … to rename a doc or move it to the trash. The + next to Documents makes a new doc in your first project.
- A folder. Click it to open or close it.
- A doc. Click it to open it.
- Make a new doc.
Skills
All skills opens the workspace's skills. Below it, each project opens its own.
Chat
Your chats, grouped by project, then Direct messages. Point at a project's name and click + to start a chat in it, or at Direct messages to send a new message.
Work with a project
Point at a project in the Home tab:
- Pause on it to see its newest posts.
- Click the arrow at its right to fold its rows away, or to open them again.
- Click …, or right-click the project, for View posts and Leave project. Owners and admins also see Edit project… and Archive.
To make a project, point at Projects and click +.
Resize the sidebar
Drag the sidebar's right edge. It's between 160 and 320 pixels wide, and sfora remembers the width on this device. Drag it past its narrowest and let go to close it; drag back before you let go to keep it. A click on the edge closes it too.
The bottom of the sidebar
- First steps shows how far you are through setting up the workspace, as "1/6". It goes away once every step is done.
- Invite people invites someone to the workspace.
- Your name opens a menu with Edit profile, Notification preferences, Theme and Log out.
At the very top, the workspace's name opens a menu to switch to another workspace, Create new org or Join an org.
