The command palette
Open the palette from the keyboard or the dock, jump anywhere, create a post, project or chat, and search the whole workspace.
The command palette is a search box that opens over any page. From it you jump to a place, create something, or search everything in the workspace. Press ⌘CtrlK or / to open it.
- Type here to narrow the list or search the workspace.
- The highlighted row. Press enter to open it; the pane on the right previews it.
- The keys you can use, and what enter does on the highlighted row.
Open the command palette
- Press ⌘CtrlK. It works from a text field too. Press it again to close the palette.
- Press / when you're not typing in a field.
- Click Search at the right end of the dock.
- Click Inbox in the dock, or press 6. The palette opens with your unread mentions at the top.
Press Esc or click outside the palette to close it.
What it shows before you type
The palette lists, in this order, the groups that have something in them:
- Inbox: your six newest unread mentions. With more than six, the last row opens all of them.
- Recently viewed: chats you opened lately.
- Recent posts: the posts with the newest activity in your projects.
- Recent notes: docs you opened lately in this browser.
- Favorites: posts you starred.
- Projects: your projects.
- Jump to: Home, Inbox / Mentions, Drafts, Favorites, Library, Map, Everything, What's new, Trash, Skills, Agents, Settings and Notification preferences.
- Create: New post, New project, New chat and New direct message.
- Search posts, which opens the search page.
Use ↑ and ↓ to move, and ↵ to open the highlighted row. The footer says what ↵ will do, such as "Go to Home". In a wide window, a pane on the right previews the highlighted row.
Search the workspace
Start typing. The places and actions narrow to the ones that match every word you type, and chats whose names match appear under Chats.
From two characters on, the palette also searches the whole workspace, a moment after you stop typing. Results come in groups: Projects, Work, Posts, Tasks, Notes, Messages and People. Pick a task and it opens on its project's board; pick a person and you start a direct message with them.
After the rows that match as you type comes "Search posts for" what you typed, then the results from across the workspace. Pick "Search posts for" to see every matching post on the search page.
Jump with g
With the search box empty, press G and then a letter to go somewhere or start something at once. After G, the box reads "h home · l library · p post · a agents · s settings · esc to cancel".
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| GthenH | Go to Home |
| GthenI | Open Mentions, every unread mention |
| GthenL | Go to the Library |
| GthenA | Go to your agents in Settings |
| GthenS | Go to Settings |
| GthenP | Write a new post |
| GthenF | Create a new project |
| GthenR | Create a new chat |
| GthenM | Start a new direct message |
The palette shows each pair beside its row. Press Esc after G to cancel. Any other letter searches for "g" followed by that letter, so a word like "ghost" still works.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| ⌘CtrlK | Open or close the palette |
| / | Open the palette |
| ↑ / ↓ | Move through the rows; they wrap at the ends |
| Home / End | Jump to the first or last row, while the box is empty |
| ⌃CtrlN / ⌃CtrlP | Next or previous row, on a Mac |
| ↵ | Open the highlighted row |
| Esc | Close the palette, or cancel G |
Troubleshooting
mod+K doesn't open the palette
The keyboard is in an editor, such as a doc or a post you're writing, and the editor keeps ⌘CtrlK for itself. Click outside the editor first, or click Search in the dock.
Pressing a letter searches instead of jumping
The jumps need G first, and only work while the box is empty. Clear the box, press G, then the letter.
Search finds nothing
The palette searches the workspace from the second character on. If a word still finds nothing, pick "Search posts for" in the list to search on the search page.
