Trash
Delete a doc, find it in the Trash at the end of the Library, put it back within 30 days, or delete it for good before then.
The Trash keeps the docs you delete for 30 days, so you can put them back. It's at the end of the Library, under Trash, with one folder for each project. After 30 days, sfora deletes a doc for good.
Only docs go to the trash. Posts, cards, folders and uploaded files don't.
Delete a doc
Pick one of these:
- On the doc's page, open Page actions (⋯) and pick Delete note. sfora takes you to the project's Library.
- In the Library, open the doc's menu and pick Trash, or select it and press ⌫ or Del.
- In the sidebar's Docs tab, open the doc's ⋯ menu and pick Move to trash.
None of these ask first; the doc goes to the trash straight away. From the Library, the message that follows has Undo.
A doc in the trash can't be opened for editing, linked to, or reached through a public link.
Open the trash
Open the Library and expand Trash. Or press ⌘CtrlK and pick Trash to see the Library with only the trash in it. Each deleted doc shows the project it came from and when it was deleted, newest first.
Put a doc back
In Trash, find the doc.
Open its menu (⋯, or right-click) and pick Put back.
The doc returns to its project, and Put back confirms it. To put back several, select them and use Put back in the bar at the bottom.
You can also click the doc to open it. The page says This document is in Trash; click Restore.
Delete a doc for good
In Trash, click the doc to open it.
Click Delete permanently (the bin) next to Restore.
Click Delete forever to confirm.
This removes the doc and everything attached to it, its comments included. It can't be undone.
Docs leave the trash on their own 30 days after they were deleted.
Availability
Only the person who created a doc, or a workspace owner or admin, can delete it, put it back or delete it for good. The trash lists deleted docs from the projects you're a member of.
Troubleshooting
A deleted doc isn't in the trash
It was deleted more than 30 days ago and is gone for good, or it's in a project you're not a member of. If it's recent, ask the doc's creator or a workspace admin.
Put back fails
You didn't create the doc and aren't a workspace owner or admin. Ask the doc's creator or an admin to put it back.
A link to the doc shows as struck through
The doc is in the trash. Put it back, and links to it work again.
