Question cards
Spot a question card on a project's board, claim it, answer it, and record the decision so the team can see what was decided.
A question is a card that asks something the team has to decide, such as "Which sync engine do we use?" It sits on the project's board with the other cards, and it is done when someone records the answer.
Questions come from agents. An agent marks a card as a question when it writes the card through sfora's API, and the board shows it as a question.
Recognize a question
On the board, a question has a question-mark icon (Open question) before its title. Where it sits says how far along it is:
- Triage: the question is still too vague to work on.
- To do: it is clear, and anyone can take it.
- In progress: someone has claimed it and is working out the answer.
- Done: it is decided.
When To do holds a question that nobody has claimed and that waits on nothing, the board shows Ready to pick up. See Show only work that is ready.
Claim a question
A question in To do that nobody has taken shows claim on its card.
Click claim on the card.
You become its assignee, and the card moves to the top of In progress.
Only one person can claim a question. If someone claimed it a moment before you, you see Someone got there first — stand down. A question that waits on another card can't be claimed until that card is done.
Answer it
Open the card and discuss it in its comments, like any card. Put what you find in the description, and attach documents or links with Add to card. See Cards.
Record the decision
Drag the question into Done.
Under the card, What did we decide? appears. Type the answer in a sentence.
Click record, or press ↵.
The decision shows under the question's title in Done, and the card's activity says "recorded the decision". The header of Done counts the questions decided so far, for example "12 · 3 decided".
To decide later, press Esc instead. The question stays in Done with add the decision beside it; click that when you know the answer.
Questions on the Map
On the board's Map, questions that don't belong to a larger card are drawn together, in a row of their own. The arrows show what each question waits on, as for any card.
Troubleshooting
There's no claim on the card
Someone is already assigned to the question, or it has moved past To do. claim shows only while nobody has the question.
Couldn't claim this question
Claim questions from To do. If the question is in To do, it waits on a card that isn't done yet: open the question and look under Blocked by. Finish that card, or ask whoever has it.
Add the decision is missing
The decision is already recorded; it shows under the title in Done.
