Drafts and scheduling

Save a post as a draft only you can see, find it on the Drafts page, schedule it to publish later, and change or clear the time.

A draft is a post you haven't published yet. Only you can see your drafts; nobody else in the workspace can, owners and admins included. They are listed on the Drafts page, which you reach from Home.

Save a draft

Start a post: on Home, click What do you want to share?.

Write as much as you have. A draft can have just a title, just a body, or only attachments.

Click Save draft. Draft saved appears, with a View drafts link.

If you close the composer with unsaved text, it asks You have unsaved changes. Pick Save draft to keep it as a draft, Discard to throw it away, or Cancel to go back to writing.

While you type a new post, the composer also keeps a copy in this browser, one per project. If you close the tab by accident, open the composer in the same project again and your text is back, with Draft recovered. That copy stays in this browser only; to reach a draft from another device, save it with Save draft.

Find your drafts

On Home, click Drafts, the page icon at the right end of the feed's controls; its badge shows how many you have. Or press ⌘K and pick Drafts.

The Drafts page groups them:

  • Scheduled: drafts with a publish time still to come, soonest first.
  • Overdue: drafts whose publish time has passed but that haven't gone out yet.
  • Drafts: everything else, newest first.

Edit or publish a draft

Click a draft to open it in the composer, under Edit draft in. Change it, then click Save draft to keep it, or Publish to publish it now. A draft stays in the project you started it in; you can't move it to another one.

To delete a draft, open it, click Discard, and confirm with Discard draft. This can't be undone.

Schedule a post

Write the post. It needs a title and a body.

Click Schedule for later, the calendar button next to Publish.

Pick a date and time under Schedule for. It starts about an hour from now.

Click Schedule. The post is saved as a draft and Post scheduled for shows the time.

The time must be at least 30 seconds away. sfora checks for due posts every minute, so a scheduled post goes out within about a minute of its time. When it does, everyone you mentioned is told, as if you had published it then.

Change or clear the time

Open the Drafts page.

On the scheduled draft, click Change publish time (the pencil).

Pick a new time under Publish at and click Update. Or click Clear schedule to keep it as an ordinary draft.

To publish a scheduled post early, open it and click Publish.

Troubleshooting

Save draft is greyed out

The composer is empty. Type a title or a body, or attach a file.

A teammate can't see your draft

Drafts are private to the person who wrote them. Publish the post when it's ready for others.

A draft sits under Overdue

Its publish time has passed and it hasn't gone out yet. Give it a minute; if it stays, open it and click Publish.
