Your account
Set your name, status, bio and profile picture in a workspace, from Settings or the menu at the bottom of the sidebar, and sign out.
Your account is how you sign in, and your profile is how people see you in a workspace: your name, a status, a short bio and a picture. You edit your profile in Settings, in the Account group, or from the menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
Your profile belongs to the workspace you set it in. If you're in more than one workspace, you set each one separately.
Change your name, status or bio in Settings
Press 7 to open Settings.
In Account, click the row you want: your name, your status ("Set a status") or your bio ("Add a short bio").
Type, then press ↵ or click away to save it. Press Esc to keep what was there.
Your name can't be empty. To clear a status or a bio, delete its text and save.
Edit your profile from the sidebar
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and pick Edit profile. The dialog has the same fields, with labels: Display name, Status and Bio. Change what you like and click Save.
The dialog also sets your picture:
Click Change avatar and pick a PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP image under 2 MB.
The picture uploads at once. To go back to your initials, click Remove.
Notification sound in the same dialog opens the sound picker; it's the same choice as in Settings › Options.
Sign out
- In Settings, click Sign out at the top right.
- Or click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and pick Log out.
Either way you go to the sign-in page.

Troubleshooting
Your new name didn't save
A name can't be empty. sfora says "Name cannot be empty" and puts the old name back. Type a name and press ↵.
The picture won't upload
It must be a PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP image, and smaller than 2 MB.
People in another workspace still see your old name
Each workspace keeps its own profile. Open that workspace and change it there.
