The inbox
See every unread mention of you from rooms, posts and comments in your inbox, jump to where it was said, and learn when one clears.
The inbox holds your unread mentions: every place someone wrote @ and your name. It sits at the top of the command palette: press 6, or click Inbox in the dock. A blue dot on Inbox means you have unread mentions.
- Pick a tab to see one kind: Messages, Posts or Replies.
- A mention: who, where, when, and the start of what they wrote. Click it to go there.
Open your inbox
Press 6 or click Inbox in the dock. The command palette opens with your newest unread mentions first, up to six, under Inbox. Each shows who mentioned you and where. Click one, or move to it with the arrow keys and press ↵, to go to the room or post.
When you have more than six, the last row reads "View all" and the number, such as "View all 9 mentions". It opens all your mentions.
See all your mentions
Press ⌘CtrlK to open the command palette.
Pick Inbox / Mentions, or press GthenI before you type anything.
Mentions lists every unread mention, newest first. The tabs show one kind each, with how many:
- All: everything.
- Messages: mentions in rooms, threads included.
- Posts: mentions in posts.
- Replies: mentions in comments on posts.
Click a mention to go to it. A mention in a room opens the room; one in a comment opens the post at that comment.
What counts as a mention
A mention is your name picked from the @ list, in:
- a message in a room you can read, or a reply in a thread;
- a post;
- a comment on a post.
These don't reach your inbox:
- here, channel and everyone, which mention a group, not you;
- mentions in docs, in comments on docs and in comments on cards.
Clear your inbox
A mention leaves your inbox once you've seen it: when you open the room it's in, or the post it's on. There is no button to mark mentions as read, and opening a mention from the inbox clears it the same way.

Troubleshooting
A mention stays in your inbox
It clears when you open the room or the post it's in. Click it in the inbox to go there.
The palette has no Inbox group
The Inbox group shows only while you have unread mentions and haven't typed in the palette. Clear what you typed to see it again.
Someone mentioned you but it isn't here
Check how they mentioned you. A mention of here, channel or everyone, or a mention in a doc or on a card, doesn't come to your inbox. In a message box, a name typed out without picking it from the @ list isn't a mention.
